MOVE Bank is a 100% member-owned mutual bank with more than $750 million in assets under management. All profits are returned to members through competitive products, personalised service and reinvestment in the organisation.
The bank began in 1968 as Railways Credit Union, formed to help railway workers and their families build secure financial futures. Over time, services expanded to support the broader transport and logistics industry across Australia. In 2016, the organisation rebranded as MOVE – People Driven Banking, and in 2018, it transitioned to MOVE Bank, reflecting legislative changes that allowed mutuals to use the title “bank.”
Today, MOVE Bank provides a full suite of banking products, from loans and savings accounts to everyday banking services. As an approved deposit-taking institution, deposits of up to $250,000 per member are protected under the Government’s Financial Claims Scheme. While its name has changed, MOVE Bank’s commitment to mutuality remains central – ensuring that the needs of members always come first.
