There are many ways to get involved with the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 (IYC 2025):

• Submit your story to our BCCM Icons Campaign.
• Attend or organise events celebrating IYC 2025 and co-operatives and mutuals in your community.
• Use the official IYC 2025 logo in your communications. Learn more and apply to use it.
• Spread awareness about co-operatives through social media and local media.
• Follow, like, share and comment on our BCCM Icons posts on Instagram, Facebook and  LinkedIn.

The BCCM Icons campaign is a celebration of the inspiring stories and achievements of Australian co-operatives and mutuals, highlighting contributions to building sustainable and inclusive communities. This campaign is part of the IYC 2025.

How can I participate in the Icons campaign?

You can participate by submitting your story about your co-operative or mutual. Follow the submission guidelines provided in the communications kit, including a clear and engaging heading, a concise written description (with a recommended maximum length of 100 words for social media posts and 400 words for blog posts), and one to four high-quality images in JPEG or PNG format with a minimum resolution of 1,200 pixels.

How do I submit my campaign materials?

Prepare your materials and submit them online. Be sure to save a copy of your submission locally before you submit your form. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission.

What types of stories are you looking for?

We are looking for stories that showcase the key achievements, impact and significance of your co-operative or mutual.

Examples include innovative initiatives, projects addressing challenges like climate change and housing affordability and leaders who champion co-operation and mutuality in their communities.

How will my story be used in the campaign?

Your story will be featured on the BCCM’s IYC 2025 website and shared on social media. We will also submit stories to the Stories.coop website.

The BCCM team will add your images to a template for a cohesive presentation and may create a blog post based on your submission.

The BCCM will host a series of flagship events, including the Parliamentary Friends Icons Breakfast Series in major cities across Australia, as well as a CEO Roundtable and Leaders’ Summit. Dates and locations will be added to our online calendar as they are confirmed.

You can also organise your own events to celebrate IYC 2025 with your members.

How do I submit my event to the BCCM?

Be sure to share your IYC 2025 celebrations with us by filling out our online form.

Your event will be added to our online calendar upon review and approval.
