Curious about joining a board? What it is and how to get on one
Many capable women feel drawn to board roles but are unsure what directors actually do or how to get a seat at the table. This session is for aspiring directors, emerging leaders and women in community or not-for-profit spaces who want a clear, honest overview of what board work involves.
You will learn the core duties and responsibilities of directors in plain language, what good governance looks like in practice, and how to assess your own readiness using a simple self-check. The session will also outline practical steps to find suitable opportunities and present yourself as a thoughtful, values-aligned candidate.
By the end, you will understand what serving on a board really means, where your strengths can contribute and how to take your next step toward a director role with more confidence and clarity.
