Ancient roots in the new world: Olives as food for the body and soul
FREE
We invite you to join us for an immersive experience of art and creativity to explore “Ancient roots in the new world: Olives as food for the body and soul”.
This exhibition is being held as a fundraiser for the Long Road Olive Co-op and brings together established and emerging artists from the UNESCO-designated Bendigo Region of Gastronomy. All works are available for sale via online silent auction, which will close at the completion of the exhibition on Monday, 29 September at 4pm. We believe in paying creatives for their work, so proceeds of the sale will be shared 70:30 in favour of the artists.
Held in the historic Dudley House gallery space on View Street in Bendigo and supported by the City of Greater Bendigo Arts on View Grant, this exhibition explores the beauty, mythology and symbolism of olives to provide food for the body and soul. The opening will begin with a Welcome to Country Ceremony from the local Traditional Owners, followed by drinks and nibbles while you explore the works on display. We encourage you to make a weekend of it and join us for our olive-inspired Gastronomy Dinner on the following evening.
RSVP to longroadolivecoop@gmail.com on or before Friday, 12 September 2025.
