The Cowboys Leagues Club is the member-owned mutual established to support the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Rugby League Football Club and provide a social home for its supporters. Founded alongside the introduction of the Cowboys to the NRL in 1995, the Club’s purpose has always been to promote, foster, fund and encourage the development of rugby league in North Queensland.
The Club first operated from the western stand of what became 1300 Smiles Stadium between 1995 and 1998, before closing due to venue limitations. It reopened in June 2001 at its current location in Townsville’s Flinders Mall. Today, the Club continues to serve as a licensed community venue, while reinvesting its proceeds to benefit the football club and the wider region.
Although rugby league remains central to its mission, the Cowboys Leagues Club has expanded its community role beyond the game. It supports local organisations across sport, education, charitable causes and community services, reflecting a broader commitment to the wellbeing of North Queensland.
